For ABF, the fall is the most important reset time. It is when all of our evaluations over the summer dictate the on and off court plan that best suits each individual youth we support. Goals are set and the balance of school and tennis begins all over again. All 14 of our scholar athletes that are on the performance track are participating in some combination of private lessons and group clinics throughout the week, while working hard to get ahead in the classroom. I want to highlight one of our longest tenured ABF members, Ezequiel Pichardo-Garcia, who this year made the leap to attend the private high school Brimmer & May located in Chestnut Hill . Ezequiel’s hard work in the classroom and on the tennis court, has afforded him this chance to position himself to better reach his goal of playing college tennis. ABF heavily supported him throughout the application process and we’re committed to helping him maximize this opportunity. Through ABF’s network, mostly gained over the years through tennis, our mission is to explore educational options that inner city youth don’t typically have access to.
